Today started off as normally as any for Capsule, who for the sake of ease and comedy, will be depicted as a puppy in the provided images. She was on her usual early morning walk, after neglecting to sleep for the umpteenth time that week. What had started as a failure to sleep due to an increase of nightmares was now habit. She would stay up all night, passing the time with Duke or brainstorming ideas for Pharmacist research. With tea and other caffeinated drinks, she was able to stay awake during the night, though there were the occasional moments where she blacked out for a few minutes or an hour or so. Passing out like that for short amounts of time was not enough to bring about the dream state, like the even shorter catnaps she took during the day. Her sleep schedule often left her feeling tired and would eventually get to her, but that was something she could worry about later.

Capsule's first order of business was settling into a comfortable tree in the Savill Flower Grove, where she normally went to relax. Although there were a few Nepent Snatchers staying up late into the break of dawn, there was rarely anything willing to molest her. Most of the monsters here were weak and or passive unless attacked, which comforted her a great deal. Her yawning and sluggish steps were probably a sign that she should not be climbing a tree in her state, but Cap would not realize her error until it actually gave her trouble, and even then she was confident in her ability to climb or descend trees. It wasn't like the fall would be enough to kill her, anyway. She would be fine if she stuck to a lower branch.

So, she climbed a tree to a spot a little higher than she had anticipated; the branch she chose was sturdier and comfy. It was so comfy that she fell asleep almost immediately when she leaned against the hard wood of the tree it was attached to. When she came to, she was leaning away into empty air, and snapped her eyes open in alarm as she went tilting back. Her hands reached out instinctively to snag the branch, and she scrambled to stay aloft, blinking about in a daze.

Her predicament wasn't a very good one, and she was too disoriented to swing down onto a lower branch; it was amazing that she had been able to grab a hold of the branch she had been sitting on. There was a low cracking sound from somewhere - under her hands? Capsule applied all of her weight to the branch as she tried to swing her body onto it, which only sped up the cracking. By the time she realized her blunder it was too late. The branch snapped -

- and sent the redhead falling. She couldn't remember equipping it, but her grimoire found its way in her hands. Was the book sentient? Did it know its master needed it then and there? Or was she just so tired that she merely forgot? Regardless of the cause, the ground was rushing up rather fast.

Capsule felt like a cat as she twisted around in the air, doing her best to aim her feet towards the ground and not to the side. With her free hand she summoned a violet orb of mana and threw it towards the ground. This was her Nightmare Sphere skill, which worked by slowing down gravity. This was her second or third time using the skill, but it still made her nervous. What if it didn't work? What if she misfired? What if -

The woman exhaled in relief as her descent was slowed and her feet slowly came closer to the ground. She smiled and gave a nervous wave to a small group of Frenmic Rabbits parked a few feet away. They spared a moment to stare back at her in curiosity, and then went back to their grazing and frolicking. The spell chose that moment to give way, and Capsule, who had not settled to the ground yet, stumbled and fell on her knees. The cheaply made spell book she'd been holding up to this moment landed on her head, making her squeak in pain and surprise. This was a little embarrassing, but at least few people would be awake at this hour to witness this awkward moment.

These pictures were separate and posted under the relevant bits of text in the actual post. It's an ongoing project, but I'm enjoying it so far.
